Diesel Mechanic
Shank Waste is seeking a heavy truck diesel mechanic to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain heavy diesel trucks. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: - Assess, diagnose, and repair heavy diesel trucks. - Also service light service equipment and light trucks. - Typical repairs include but are not limited to: hydraulic, fuel, exhaust, brake, suspension, electrical, and emission systems. - Perform preventative maintenance and inspections. - Able to follow written and verbal instructions. - Adaptable to changing work environments, competing demands, and is able to deal with frequent change, delays or unexpected events. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: - Experience troubleshooting and repairing problems with heavy diesel trucks. - Must be able to perform state inspections. - Employees must provide their own safety-approved work boots. - Employees must provide their own tools and locking tool box. - Valid CDL and inspection license preferred. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: - Ability to sit/stand, walk, climb, bend/twist, crouch/crawl, and push/pull required. - Ability to lift/carry upwards of 50-75 lbs. for short distances
